It was layering on handspun cotton that took centre stage in Tara Aslam’s collection at Karnataka Fashion Week 2015. The collection called ‘Telling Tales’ was inspired by a collection of simple tales from the village, that was shared with the designer over the years. Structural layering was evident in this collection that was aimed at all age groups. Palazzos, culottes, asymmetrical medis and dhotis complete the collection that gave khadi a new dimension. The shade card graduated from off whites to blues to yellows and ended with orange. These ensembles can either be worn as separates or matched with a simple cut tee. Take a look at this sequence that induced breathability in each garment.
